Until I actually saw the 3DS XL, I was a bit blah about the whole thing. Having a bigger screen would benefit gaming but I was worried that the larger size will make the device less portable. However, within five minutes of holding it, I realised that w...

  • If you don't mind its bulkier design, the 3DS XL is probably a better choice than the original 3DS. It's nicer to handle and its bigger screens are generally nicer to use—even if the resolution hasn't been upped (onscreen images are less finely detailed)...

The Nintendo 3DS XL is now on sale in Europe and boy does Nintendo need it to sell well . The UK release of the original Nintendo 3DS last March didn't go as smoothly as the house of Mario might've hoped, see. A high £230 price point and a general lack of...

The Nintendo 3DS XL is a larger version of the Nintendo 3DS portable gaming handheld, 90 per cent larger than the original 3DS. It features two cameras, one on the inside, the other on the outside for taking photos and playing augmented reality-style g...
  • The much larger display makes games easier on the eye, bringing games to life to broaden the appeal of Nintendo’s 3DS range. Should you wish to have the 3D effect switched on, the effects are much more noticeable and obvious than before. Games such as Super Mario 3D Land and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time played on the 3DS XL will take any Nintendo fans breath away. Nintendo’s 3DS XL also d...
  • The larger screen makes games look even better, but even the 3DS cannot compete with the HD screen quality of the PlayStation Vita. The build quality could also be better, especially when, again, compared to the superbly-made PlayStation Vita. The 3DS XL also sacrifices portability for size, so there’s no longer any hope of stashing it in your jeans pockets without suffering from unsightly bulges...
  • The Nintendo 3DS XL is an impressive system that adds new life to Nintendo’s 3D handheld library. It may not be worth the price to upgrade, but newcomers will not be disappointed. Nintendo 3DS XL is tagged with Nintendo, 3DS X, L review, gaming, handh...

With European sales of the Nintendo 3DS "weak" according to the company's president, Satoru Iwata, one had to wonder what he would do to strengthen shipments of the glasses-free 3D handheld. His solution? Build a massive version. The Nintendo 3DS XL, on...

The name tells you all you really need to know about Nintendo's latest handheld, not to mention its biggest selling point. The 3DS XL is to the 3DS what the DSi XL was to the DSi. It's a bigger version, with bigger dual screens. But while the DSi XL was r...

After the DS Lite , the DSi and the DSi XL , it was a no-brainer that Nintendo wasn't going to leave the 3DS alone for long. The first generation of any new Nintendo handheld is never the definitive article – remember the hideously clunky first DS? – and...
