| With a digital camera all the pictures you make are stored digitally, which means you can instantly view a picture after you have taken it and take as many pictures as you like, without having to buy new films all the time. It is easy to download the pictures from your camera to your computer, either at home or at the shop and edit them before printing. Once they are on your computer, you can easily share your pics with the rest of the world by putting them on-line, or e-mailing them to friends. |

Making digital SLR photography accessible Outstanding image definition The EOS 300D's 6.3 megapixel CMOS sensor provides stunning image resolution, allowing detailed prints to be made up to A3. Canon's high-performance, purpose built DIGIC processor links all key camera functions together and allows for high-speed continuous shooting. Images can be recorded simultaneously in both RAW and JPEG formats for greater post-shooting flexibility.
Wide-area AF Wide-area 7-point AF allows accurate auto-focus on any one of 7 focus points within the viewfinder. Focus points can be chosen manually or automatically.
Precise exposure control You can choose between 35-zone evaluative metering (linked to the selected AF point), centre-weighted average or partial metering for complete exposure control.
The EOS 300D has a shutter speed range from 1/4000 second to 30 seconds. Together with an ISO range from 100 – 1600, it can capture images across a wide range of lighting conditions.
Controlled colour rendition As well as sRGB, the EOS 300D features Adobe RGB. This improves colour rendition by capturing colours across an extremely wide spectrum. White balance settings include Auto White Balance (AWB), 6 preset modes and Custom.
Easy to use Lightweight and ergonomic, the EOS 300D is easy to use and comfortable in the hand. Its menu is clear and navigation is simple and quick.
A mode dial provides 12 shooting modes – from pre-programmed to full manual. This makes it easy to take photographs in a wide range of shooting situations, whatever your photographic level.
Exclusively designed lens The exclusively designed EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens has short back focal distance optics optimised for the EOS 300D's sensor. It also has a Super Spectra lens coating to reduce ghosting and flare. It provides pin-sharp images at focal lengths equivalent to 29-88mm in 35mm format.
The EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens will not be sold separately and will only be available when purchased with the EOS 300D. The EOS 300D will also be available as body only.
The entire range of Canon EOS EF lenses and EX Speedlite flash units are also compatible with the EOS 300D.
Direct printing The EOS 300D is the first ever Digital SLR to be PictBridge compatible, allowing users to print directly to any PictBridge compatible printer. It's also Canon Direct Print and Bubble Jet Direct compatible – printing to any Canon direct printer without the need for a computer.

The display technology. Flat screen technologies like Liquid Cristal Display (LCD) and Thin Film Transistor (TFT) active matrix technology are the trend.
In TV technologies one can notice FST (Flat Screen Tube) technology, and ARASC (Anti Reflexion, Anti Static Coating) or AGARAS (Anti-Glare ARASC) or simply AGC (anti-glare coating). The old tv and screen technology CRT means Cathodic Ray Tube. MLA = Micro Lens Array. p-Si=Polycrystalline Silicon. a-Si=Amorphous Silicon.
