| With a digital camera all the pictures you make are stored digitally, which means you can instantly view a picture after you have taken it and take as many pictures as you like, without having to buy new films all the time. It is easy to download the pictures from your camera to your computer, either at home or at the shop and edit them before printing. Once they are on your computer, you can easily share your pics with the rest of the world by putting them on-line, or e-mailing them to friends. |

How can a camera this good be this easy?
Impress with ease Canon has combined some of the world's most advanced digital imaging technology with sixty years of optical heritage to deliver the deceptively simple PowerShot A85: a camera that could not be easier to use, yet with features you can indulge your creative urge with.
Images that shine Every function on the PowerShot A85 works with you to help take great photos. The 4.0 Megapixel CCD sensor provides enough power to capture every nuance of every shot. Canon Visionary Technologies combine in the form of a superb quality lens and super fast processor to ensure accurate, high clarity image rendering. To speed up focusing and optimise exposures, the camera's iSAPs system analyses the scene and makes setting adjustments even before the shutter release is pressed.
All situations covered The PowerShot A85 has a 3x optical zoom to close in on the action, giving you greater scope to get the desired composition. From fully automatic 'point-and-shoot' to completely manual 'total creative control', 13 shooting modes cover every situation. A special 'Scene Mode' gives you access to 6 additional pre-programmed modes including 'foliage', 'beach' and 'fireworks'. The 9-point AiAF ensures beautifully crisp results - even with off-centre subjects.
Directing movies Take up to 3-minute movie clips, complete with sound recording, fun playback and in-camera editing on the large 1.8" LCD monitor. For very high definition playback on a TV, the camera can also record up to 30 second VGA clips.
Print and share at home The Print/Share button makes PC-free home printing to any PictBridge or Canon Direct Print compatible printer a breeze. When the camera is connected via USB cable to any PictBridge or Direct Print compatible photo printer, or Windows PC, a blue light illuminates in the Print/Share button to indicate successful connection.
Pushing the button when illuminated instigates a print of the image currently displayed image (based on the connected printer's default settings) or an automatic transfer of images to the PC.1 The camera transfers all images, all images not yet transferred, or all images marked for transfer, depending on the user setting selected in the Camera's set up options.
1Requires application software provided to be loaded on the PC and camera pre-settings to be selected.
Getting connected Online sharing is easy with 100 MB free storage space on CANON iMAGE GATEWAY. With Canon's ZoomBrowser EX (for Windows) and ImageBrowser (for Macintosh) you can arrange photo albums, crop photographs and adjust contrast and brightness with ease.
Accessories extend the enjoyment A range of accessories are available to help you get more out of your camera. These include wide and tele converter lenses, a rechargeable NiMH Battery and Charger Kit and a waterproof case (down to a depth of 40m).
